IFFLA 2017 unveils program lineup!

The festival celebrates its 15th anniversary with an impressive lineup. We’ve programmed a showstopping set of new films to celebrate this landmark.

Alankrita Shrivastava’s LIPSTICK UNDER MY BURKHA opens the festival, with an ensemble cast in a dramatic but irreverent and vibrant film about women and faith.

The festival will close with Shubhashish Bhutiani’s debut feature HOTEL SALVATION, which premiered at the 2016 Venice Film Festival. The film’s star Adil Hussain will be in person at the Gala.

Highlights include new work from celebrated filmmakers, such as Adoor Gopalakrishnan’s twisted thriller ONCE AGAIN, making its U.S. premiere; and Suman Mukhopadhyay’s gorgeous Bengali film INCOMPLETE, making its North American premiere. More films from first-time filmmakers will be presented this year than ever before, including beloved actress Konkona Sen Sharma’s directorial debut A DEATH IN THE GUNJ; Ananya Kasaravalli’s CHRONICLES OF HARI, a beautiful film about a renowned theater actor’s struggle with gender identity; and Padmakumar Narasimhamurthy’s BILLION COLOUR STORY, which was included at Best of Fest in Palm Springs, and recently played Busan and BFI London.

The full lineup is here.

The festival will take place April 5-9 at our new location, Regal L.A. LIVE. Make sure to take advantage of all IFFLA 2017 has to offer, and purchase your Gala tickets and festival passes now.
