Set amidst gorgeous bluegrass farms and just a stone’s throw from the site of the Kentucky Derby, LIFF has been praised by award winning actor, Bryan Cranston as a mix of “old charm and dynamic new energy.” Screenings and celebratory events for LIFF are held in some of the most beautiful and unforgettable locations in all of Downtown Louisville, including 4th Street Live, and the Muhammad Ali Center. The Festival year after year discovers and introduces the best filmmakers from around the world and attracts well known talent including Jennifer Lawrence, Lily Tomlin, Doris Roberts, Naomi Judd, Michael Gross, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Lee Majors, Florence Henderson, Kathy Joosten, Horatio Sanz and Phil Keoghan.

Cash and prizes are on hand for many of the Festival’s strongest performers including the Best of Fest Award awarded to attending filmmakers, and a special Kentucky Youth Festival allows participating high school and college students the thrill of pitching, producing, and promoting their work in unprecedented ways. No matter the age, the interest, or the level of experience, LIFF truly does offer something for everyone.
